Getting your website together on a budget can sometimes become a grueling task, but it is certainly possible. You don’t need expensive web page editors and you don’t need to spend a lot on graphic design software. You don’t necessarily need to learn html and you don’t have to be very computer savvy. What you need is an idea and you can always go from there. With my book, Amazing Design Secrets, I teach you how to accomplish this without spending any money at all out of your own pocket. Here are a couple things you can do to get started on your own design without any money out of pocket:

Learn HTML – If you can teach it to yourself, you will save a lot of money on WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors and you will deliver a better quality product to your customers.
Get free stock art – There are plenty of places on the internet where you can find free stock art for your website. It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but you can always take your own pictures.
Partner and Trade – Do you have an idea for a website and don’t have the money to implement it? Trade with someone who needs your skills. Bartering is what makes the internet so fantastic! I do it all the time, and I’ve reaped the rewards over and over again.
Get free advertising. If you have a product or service, try advertising it in a classifieds ad, or even on Craig List. You would be surprised how many people read those ads every day. It is certainly worth a try.

The internet is a wonderful place to do business and if you have to pinch pennies, it is certainly possible. I recommend putting together a plan when building your website so that you can easily accomplish all of your goals in the time constraints you gave yourself.

Having a well designed website isn’t just nice, it’s necessary! Here are my top 10 reasons, while you learn html, graphic design, and web design:

Those who visit your website judge you as a company, an organization, or a person. An old sociology teacher once told me that ‘pretty people get jobs’, while I don’t agree with this 100%, I do believe that it is necessary to look good and present yourself well to be successful. This includes your design, your copy, and the quality of your content.
Those you visit a nicely designed website will be more likely to return again. FACT: it takes a customer about 6 visits to your website before they decide to make a purchase or sign up for your service. Why not give them something nice to return to?
The investment of learning HTML, graphic design, and web design is way less than hiring a professional web designer to do the work for you. Only you know what your customers want, so having a well designed website will help give them exactly what they want.
Customers trust well designed websites far more than those that are not well designed. A customer is far more likely to give a credit card to a business that presents itself as professional, rather than one that does not exude the effort.
And finally, a well designed website will show pride in your work and your business. This will bring you far more rewards than some cheesy design will.
